What is a First Contact Physio ?

• These are highly trained Physiotherapist in Barnsley working in GP Practices .
• They have extensive experience in assessment and advice of musculoskeletal conditions. They see a wide range of problems such as joint, muscle or spinal pains.

What should you expect from your First Contact Physio ?

• Assessment and diagnosis of your problem and to be given expert advice on how best to manage your condition
• Onwards referrals if required. This can include a referral to physiotherapy for continuing treatment, arrange diagnostic investigations if required.

How to book an appointment ?

• You can see us without the need for a GP appointment. Book directly by calling your own GP practice and ask to see the FCP.
• If you have symptoms in more than one area, please request two appointments.
• Please note, FCP clinics are held at many practices across the Barnsley area, so please be prepared to travel for your appointments.
